The All New Breakfast Menu at Cafe Mangii, Khar and Powai, Mumbai

Situated right behind Domino’s, Khar is Café Mangii's Khar outlet. The place is known to have great food, and they’ve recently come out with their all new breakfast menu. Varied options, delectable spread, very fresh ingredients and your morning is all set to be bright and yummy!

I started off my breakfast with a glass of freshly squeezed Orange juice and placed an order for Mangii’s Egg Decker. The egg decker had 3 layers in it- the bottom most layer had rosti potato, above that was stacked creamy spinach and the top layer had truffle infused scrambled eggs. Have a bite of all of this together and you’re in heaven! One of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. I know that’s like saying a lot, but you have to try their Egg Decker to know what I’m talking about!! Every element in this stood out and shone bright. Crispy rosti, creamy spinach, mind-blowing scrambled eggs, and served with a crisp plain garlic bread.

I next tried Egg Benedict with ham, and bacon and hash brown on the side. The benedict was prepared beautifully, but the hollandaise sauce could have been better. Also, the ham was slightly hard. Fix these two and the basic science of making an egg benedict was done spot-on by the chef! The bacon and hash brown were superb! No oil to stain your fingers with in the hash brown, very very crisp on the outside and marvellously well-balanced in terms of the salt content.

Next was Baked Bean Toast. A small serving of baked beans that was flavoured with pigmento- exceptionally good! I usually don’t like baked beans but this one was simply outstanding! The baked beans came with a chilli cheese toast. The toast was so good that you could gobble up the entire thing without the baked beans too- thick layer of cheese with herbs on the multigrain toast. The beans and toast worked really well with each other! This dish came with roasted tomato and chips on the side.

Something sweet to end the breakfast with- what can be better than waffles! Chose the Chocolate Ganache and Whipped Cream Waffles (replaced the vanilla ice cream with whipped cream), and the waffles were made really well. Not too soft, not too crisp, but just right. With chocolate sauce and powdered sugar on the waffles, they’d given thick luscious chocolate ganache on the side, and along with it whipped cream in a separate bowl too. Delightful stuff! Relished my waffles with a lovely Cappuccino!

The food was outstanding by all means, except for just the hollandaise in the eggs benedict, but that too was decent on the whole. The prices aren’t exorbitant, the service is prompt and the service staff is well-informed. Café Mangii has nothing going wrong for them in their breakfast menu. A must must try for all! Food that will really make you smile big :D

Royce' Chocolate comes to Select CITYWALK, Saket, New Delhi

With the addition of Royce' Chocolate to the crazy food and lifestyle scene in Select CITYWALK, they are now just complete! The store speaks volumes about what to expect in the chocolates. Very classy, very polished, you wouldn’t find many chocolates in India being sold this way.

Royce' has a lot of chocolates on offer- very thin sheets of chocolate, Chocolate Wafers, Chocolate Bars, Pure Chocolate, Potatochip Chocolate (chips coated with white and milk chocolate), chocolates that have different content and percentage of dark chocolate or liquor in it, flavoured chocolate with the most amazing flavours on offer, the classic Nama, cookies- the list goes on.

What really stands out at Royce' apart from their chocolates (obviously) is their packaging. For the chocolates to not melt, they pack boxes of chocolates with sheets that keep the chocolates at the same temperature at which they are kept in the store. For the same reason, Royce' has now become people’s favourite for gifting, for announcing celebrations in the family, and all of this without any worry of the chocolate not being in the right condition.

My favourites are the Ghana Bitter from the Nama range, milk chocolate version of Potatochip chocolate, chocolate wafers and chocolate bar. The texture of the chocolate, the aftertaste, the way it melts in your mouth, the science behind the temperature at which these chocolates are prepared and should be kept on- they speak volumes about the brand. They sure are expensive- some are more than just the usual expensive, but the chocolates are worth splurging on!! Now that a Royce' store is closer to you than before (at Select CITYWALK), you must must try their chocolates!

Kebab Gali, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi: Delicious North Indian Food!

Kebab Gali has multiple outlets in Delhi now, with Malviya Nagar being the latest entrant. Mughlai, North Indian, Indian- food that they serve. The place started off with having their maximum clientele being people who order in, but has now started picking up on their dining in too. This outlet of Kebab Gali is situated on the main Malviya Nagar road, just a few shops after Rendezvous.

Very basic no-fuss furniture, with the kitchen at the end of the restaurant and the cashier right before that. They have a place for hand wash too, which I feel is required in every restaurant.

I started off my meal with Dahi Kebab, Dohra Kebab and Galauti Kebab. Kebab Gali does one of the best Dahi Kebabs in Delhi! Mouth-watering soft and impeccable in taste!

Their Dohra Kebab too is delicious and juicy beyond words. Juicy to another level and full of flavour. The kebab has minced chicken on the outside and minced mutton inside- it's like the best of both worlds!! A definite must try, these two appetizers.

Mumbai: The Fatty Bao, Bandra, dishing out insanely delicious food!

Dim lighting, nice plush wooden furniture with such quirky fun colour scheme, seating that’s a combination of indoor and outdoor, and a place that people have spoken volumes about the food.

I was escorted to my seat and handed the menu. Placed an order for a Mickey Ninja- a vodka based cocktail with just a little bit of Jameson, flavoured with cucumber and orange slice. Very refreshing, slightly bitter, not at all overtly sweet, and decently strong. Also tried Made In China- a vodka based cocktail with earl grey tea and orange marmalade. Tasted so so good! But the star of all the drinks I tried was Double Jade. Gin with kiwi, khus and kaffir lime. Little tiny pieces of kiwi coming in every sip, with a beautiful kaffir lime flavour (which is my favourite ingredient in any cocktail). The presentation too was super nice!
